In early October 2020, Kim’s sister Kristyn began decorating for Halloween… and couldn’t stop. She realized that Halloween 2019 was the last holiday the family had with Kim before her health took a turn on that previous Thanksgiving. Choosing to embrace those happy memories of that holiday, and to embrace the obvious “blood” theme, they called Versiti with the idea to host a Halloween blood drive. Versiti answered the call, and the blood drive was a success! Not only were pints donated, but it was covered in the newspapers and on television, continuing to carry on APFK’s mission of spreading awareness. Each year, Kristyn, along with John Collins, decorate their home and then open it up on the Saturday before Halloween for a blood drive and a party. The decorations go up the first week of October, so sure to drive by with your Halloween-loving kids (best viewed at night!).
2021 Halloween Blood Drive
We were back again this year for our 2nd annual Halloween blood drive. We went from one mobile coach to TWO and both of them were full ALL DAY LONG far exceeding the goal we had set for the day. We continued to have amazing press coverage to help us get the word out about how important it is to continue to donate blood!
The annual Halloween blood drive is one of our favorite traditions. The display now has over 70 inflatables and hosts two mobile busses saving over 100 lives each Halloween weekend!
