Just a few days before what would have been Kim’s 50th birthday, her sister Kristyn received a phone call from Versiti. A group who was planning to host a blood drive in Naperville had to cancel, but they had the space and staff all lined up. When Kristyn heard that the date was Kim’s birthday, she decided to try to get 50 donors in honor of Kim’s birthday. With such a short turnaround time, and with the average blood drive averaging only 22 donors, it was a challenge. To nobody’s surprise, the goal of 50 was met by the amazing APFK Chicagoland community! In fact, there were 51 donors!
